GC Zürich
Capelli Sport to Become the Official Uniform and Equipment Supplier for GC Zürich
Grasshopper Club Zürich is excited to embark on a new chapter with Capelli Sport. The Zürich record champion has signed a long-term contract with the New York City-based sports equipment manufacturer, starting from the 2023/24 season. This partnership will make Capelli Sport the official uniform and apparel supplier for the Grasshoppers.
With this supplier change, GC Zürich is parting ways with its previous partner Adidas, who accompanied the Hoppers through many successful moments for over 30 years.
This new partnership brings significant economic benefits, and also allows the club more flexibility with jersey design. By working with the Capelli Sport team, GC Zürich has a partner who can make planning for the future more efficient, collaborate on marketing initiatives, and elevate brand recognition in Switzerland and beyond.
The new blue and white Capelli Sport jersey, which will incorporate important elements of the historic tradition of the record champion with its classic look, will not only be worn by the first team in the upcoming season. The American sports equipment manufacturer will also outfit the GC women's football team and the entire youth department of the Zürich club.
Director of Commerce & Sales of GC Zürich, Andreas Schmocker said:
"We are delighted to enter into a partnership with Capelli Sport as the first Swiss club. From the beginning, we have felt great appreciation and the highest professionalism from all parties involved. Capelli Sport offers us, among other things, great flexibility and freedom in designing the jerseys, as well as competent and careful support in the conception and production of the jerseys and various merchandise items. We look forward to being able to rely on Capelli Sport's expertise in the coming years and to introducing exciting news together."
President of Capelli Sport Europe, Kay Mourheg said:
"We are pleased to have gained a prestigious partner with Grasshopper Club Zürich, where Capelli Sport will be prominently represented in Switzerland. The city of Zürich, a city full of charm and character, offers us the opportunity to achieve important successes on and off the field together with the city's most traditional and successful club as a strategic partner. In the joint discussions with Andreas Schmocker, we were quickly able to develop a similar vision of the partnership, which is why I am convinced that this partnership will provide significant added value for both sides."
Area Sales Manager of Capelli Sport, Luca Beck said:
"The Grasshopper Club Zurich is characterized, in particular, by a familial togetherness, which became evident from the pleasant conversations with the club and also fits very well with Capelli Sport's self-image. I am very pleased to conclude a long-term partnership with the renowned record champion of Switzerland, which is known beyond national borders. The GCZ is the first professional club in Switzerland for Capelli Sport. With their excellent youth work and their enthusiastic and loyal fans, we have the opportunity to present ourselves as a successful team sports brand and highlight our qualities in cooperation."
