Project Inspire x Capelli Sport
Capelli Sport to Become the Official Apparel and Equipment Supplier for Project Inspire.
RICHMOND, Va. (July 9, 2025) — Capelli Sport is proud to announce a new 3 year partnership with Project Inspire, becoming the official uniform and apparel supplier for all staff and volunteers of the Inspire Soccer League—the first year-long competitive soccer league in the United States created for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).
In addition to outfitting all league staff members, Capelli Sport will also provide uniforms for two of the four inaugural teams and serve as the preferred apparel partner for all future expansion clubs joining the league.
Founded by former pro players João Gomiero and Nil Vinyals, Project Inspire is a nonprofit organization on a mission to create inclusive, year-round opportunities for athletes with ID to compete at a high level. The league’s inaugural season launches this August and features teams representing Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, One Knoxville SC, USL Spokane, and United Genuine FC.
João Gomiero, Founder of Project Inspire, said:
“We are excited to team up with Capelli Sport for the years to come. This partnership reflects Capelli Sport’s commitment to supporting adaptive soccer in the United States and elevates us all as pioneers in investing and changing the game. Their support is key in making the Inspire Soccer League a reality and changing lives for all the athletes.”
Andrew Ross, Director of Pro Partnerships at Capelli Sport, added:
"This partnership with Project Inspire represents an incredible opportunity to support athletes who haven’t always had access to the spotlight they deserve. We’re proud to help equip the staff and athletes that make this league possible, and we’re inspired by the mission to create a competitive, community-centered space for every player to thrive through the beautiful game.”
The Inspire Soccer League blends professional club affiliations with local fan engagement to give athletes the opportunity to play for their hometown teams on a national stage. The league will feature multi-city fixtures, playoffs, and an all-star weekend—all at no cost to participating athletes.
This partnership reflects Capelli Sport’s continued commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives and expanding access to the sport for all communities.
