Capelli Sport to Become the Founding Partner for Women’s Pro Baseball League
Springfield, Il – 08.26.2026 Capelli Sport and the Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL) are proud to announce a new partnership naming Capelli Sport a Founding Partner of the WPBL’s inaugural season, helping equip the athletes, coaches, managers, and staff. Making history as the League launches professional women’s baseball in the United States, the WPBL’s debut season started August 1st in Springfield, Illinois, at Robin Roberts Stadium in front of a sold out crowd
As part of the partnership, Capelli Sport will serve as an official, non-exclusive equipment supplier for WPBL providing products including baseball backpacks, belts, socks and insulated water bottles. In addition, Capelli Sport brand marks can be found throughout venues, including stadium signage, sponsor recognition, and various digital boards.
The league is committed to creating new opportunities for women in professional baseball while inspiring the next generation of athletes to pursue their dreams on and off the field.

The WPBL is launching at a time of exponential growth and media viewership for women's sports, and represents a historic shift, breaking a long-standing structural barrier that historically diverted female baseball players into playing softball. There are more than 100,000 girls and women who play baseball in the United States, with participation growing across youth leagues, high school, and professional levels.

The Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL) is the only professional women’s baseball league in the United States. The League’s historic inaugural season is set to start August 1st and will run through the second half of September including a regular season and playoffs. The league’s debut season will feature their four teams – New York Heights, Boston Hunters, Los Angeles Queens, and San Francisco Firebells – and will be held at historic Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois. The League is Co-Founded by baseball pioneer, Justine Siegal, who is the first woman to coach a professional men’s baseball team and to pitch batting practice in Major League Baseball.
